Praying according His will.

At times, I’ve noticed some of us pray against the Prophecies of God. If I’m not wrong, we want God’s prophecies to be fulfilled and not to be hindered by the children of God. So, learn to pray according to God’s Will. In this blog I will mention some spiritual exercises that have helped me improve my prayer life.
One thing that has helped me immensly in this area is knowing God’s will and understanding His ways.
Simply put, He does not think like we do, His thoughts are much higher and his plans much wider than our comprehension. Therefore dear people make it a practice to ask Heavenly Father about His will or what’s His desire.
If someone doesn’t know what is God’s will then;

1) Ask God to reveal His will to you: It may sound bizzare but get this- if I want to know more about your future plans who is better than you your own self to tell me. Similarly who can tell us about God better than He Himself and in this case the Bible? Only God can tell us about himself better than any person in the world.

2)Read Bible: It helps us understand God, His ways and His will for us, for Israel and for the coming kingdoms. Dive deep and try to find out the meaning of the verse, the context, the background, the emphasis. If you truly want to know about God’s will and plan then He will surely reveal it to you once you set your heart upon it.

3) The dangers of assumptions: We assume that we know everything about God’s will therefore don’t ask God to reveal more about His plans or desires. Dont assume that you know everything, keep some room for new undertsandings and revelations from God, and from the bible. To be clear, we cannot know each and everything in the Bible, there are always things that we never discovered before. So, leave some room for new knowledge and understanding.

4) Wisdom: Be very wise as to what to pray and what not to pray. Eg: If there’s a storm approaching your area then don’t just ask God to cancel the storm but also ask Him to help you prepare for the storm. If God cancels the Storm well and good but if He doesn’t want to cancel then He will reveal before or after the storm how you could’ve been more wisier.

5) Don’t be rigid: Don’t be dogmatic about your prayer requests to God. Sometimes we are so stuck up praying for things that seem right to us rather than seeking answers/solutions that are according to God. Be open minded that God may provide the least likely solution.

6) Be genuine: God never over looks a genuine or earnest prayer request. So being genuine at heart is the key to have a victorious prayer life.
