After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. Matthew6:9-13
The other part that Yahshua taught was, keeping the second commandment of not taking His name in vain and that His name was Holy and to be revered. We are not in any way certifying but proclaiming that His Name is Holy.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
This verse, for some reason best known to many bible versions, have missed out on this part, Thy will be done as in heaven, so in earth. King James version completes the vivid concept of who He is. Father’s Kingdom is in heaven, and that is His dwelling place, and His will is always done in heaven. In the prayers, we are confessing the faith and at the same time desiring that His Kingdom comes. His will done on the earth to be as it is in heaven, heaven on the earth situation.
We know that in the book of Revelation it is mentioned that eventually His Kingdom will come on earth and there will be a new heaven and a new earth. While praying we are not only willing but looking forward to that day, when Father will establish his kingdom on earth. Ever since that day, we all have been praying for His kingdom to come on earth.
Thy will be done again has a deeper connotation. This in no way means that now it is not done or that we have to pray for His will to be done. In Isaiah 66, Thus saith the LORD, the heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? And where is the place of my rest? For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD. This is why we have to pray that His will to be done in our lives. That we offer ourselves in such a way that His will is done.
